June 18 report exhausted into review.
The public-safe pieces have been routed to About and Press. Uncertain material is now parked below as JAF/KFS/background decisions, story candidates and BTS asks for James.
Review Dashboard
Use this page to check the live portfolio experience: work, writing, contact paths, hover states, navigation and the overall director-led feel.
The public-safe pieces have been routed to About and Press. Uncertain material is now parked below as JAF/KFS/background decisions, story candidates and BTS asks for James.
The Letter and Blood Brothers now have real behind-the-scenes galleries sourced from the filmmaking drives. Review image taste, order and whether they add useful proof-of-life without making the pages feel messy.
Nightshades is KFS producer / executive-producer and studio-infrastructure proof. The JAF source no longer lists it as a director/DP project, and the old JAF route redirects to the KFS case study.
JAF remains a reference-quality site for polish and emotion while KFS launch and Gear operations stay ahead of it in the work queue.
JAF is already public and credible. Keep it online while KFS launch and Gear replacement get the heavy lift.
A better contact form can come later through a reliable provider path. Do not let form work block KFS or Gear.
Use JAF as the quality bar for polish, hover feel, type confidence, project discovery and quiet authority without copying it into KFS or Epic.
The next meaningful JAF pass is project intake: showreel-only projects, awards, press, older films, and projects where James was director or DP.
A shared awards database now exists at data/film-awards.json, with a readable summary in docs/film_awards_database_2026-06-17.md. JAF project recognition has been updated for Colorado, Open Road, Mabel and Because She's Adopted.
Princeton and The Letter credits now have a project-credit source registry. Use the KFS crew review panel to fill missing crew names before public project pages get over-expanded.
Project pages should support clearer previous/next discovery, stronger clickable hero media and better distinction between back-to-work navigation and chronological browsing.
Confirm the selected work still feels current, high-end and representative of James as director and DP.
Review Cleopatra's Rituals, Telus Originals pitches, Carey Price, The Keepers, Princeton and other candidates from the source backlog. Nightshades has moved to KFS because James was producer / executive producer, not director or DP.
Contact remains direct email for now. Future form work should be separate from the KFS launch crunch.
JAF should stay prestigious and personal while KFS carries the larger service-production authority.
Report routing
Every useful item from the June 18 research report is mapped here so JAF gets the best of James without dragging KFS-only proof into the wrong site.
Add to About and Public Record as a photographer's-eye origin point.
Third-party local coverage supports the visual identity without hype.
Use as a small public-record item about camera placement and performance.
It shows James talking through how camera position changes audience attention.
Mention lightly on JAF; keep fuller regional infrastructure story on KFS.
JAF should stay director/DP-led while KFS carries production infrastructure.
Add to Public Record; use The Gift as a review candidate, not a full project yet.
It is public third-party evidence for James as director/cinematographer and workshop presenter.
Do not list as a JAF creative credit. Ask James for role wording, BTS and permission for the F-150 Lightning story.
The known role is support/1st AC, and the strongest story is physical production problem-solving.
Keep as a core narrative project; consider a future source-backed post after date and wording review.
Public and local sources support James as writer/director and creative lead.
Ask James whether to surface it as an archive project or leave it as public-record context.
Public evidence exists, but the site lacks approved image, assets and owner preference.
Keep the existing page and BTS gallery; do not add awards until they exist.
The work is strong JAF proof, but the awards database says not to invent recognition.
Keep as a public project and candidate for a future small-crew BTS post.
Public screening evidence and existing BTS support James as director/editor.
Keep in post-production and avoid release claims.
It is strong authorship proof but should remain honest about status.
Keep off JAF director/DP positioning; use on KFS as producer/studio/VFX production proof.
James was producer/executive producer support, not the public director/DP.
Keep on KFS as producer/studio proof, not JAF director/DP work.
Local and public notes route it to KFS.
Keep as music/performance proof with project-level recognition.
Public OSA and project data connect James to directing/cinematography.
Keep as a documentary proof point; use festival records carefully.
Public festival records support the project, and local data supports James's role.
Keep as in-development DP/producer work, without overclaiming broadcaster commitment.
The current JAF framing is appropriately cautious.
Keep director/producer framing on JAF; leave crew, truck, power and logistics depth to KFS.
The project works on both sites when the angle stays distinct.
Keep as interview/director/DP proof; ask if deeper BTS should be added later.
It shows controlled long-form interview work without needing extra claims.
Use for internal positioning and source trail; do not over-index public copy on agency case-study language.
They support brand history but are not primary filmmaking evidence.
Story queue
These are the best post candidates from the report. The public JAF site should only publish them after the missing BTS, permission and wording checks are handled.
A small crew, a real home and careful lighting made a Hallmark-inspired scene feel physical and finished.
Format: Short BTS post with embedded film and existing BTS gallery.
Needs: Confirm whether the full two-day production story and sponsor list can be told publicly.
The look was developed through testing, locations and old glass before the film moved into final edit.
Format: Process post built from lens tests, BNA studies and existing BTS images.
Needs: Confirm final wording around post-production status and whether any extra frames are preferred.
A narrative short that shows James's interest in drawing quiet human detail out of people and places.
Format: Archive post with embedded film, FilmFreeway context and any available production stills.
Needs: Confirm dates, Mabel/Mabelville wording, favorite BTS and any story James wants attached.
A feature documentary credit that should stay human and specific, not awards-first.
Format: Documentary post with trailer embed, festival records and carefully approved images.
Needs: Confirm preferred sensitivity boundaries, BTS images and whether to link Kristal Parke's public pages.
The useful story is not a credit grab; it is production made real when a shoot needed reliable power.
Format: KFS production-proof post with BTS gallery if permission exists.
Needs: Confirm exact role, permission from producer/director, Ford F-150 Lightning wording and BTS of the truck or power setup.
Producer, studio, crew and VFX support turned a practical regional production into an award-recognized short.
Format: KFS case-study post with trailer, VFX/studio images and awards block.
Needs: Confirm public credit wording, preferred stills and whether to include Michael Hogan/cast references.
A music video built out of stage, crew, lighting and performance control rather than a JAF director credit.
Format: KFS case-study post with video embed and existing stage BTS contact sheets.
Needs: Confirm James's public producer/executive-producer wording and final gallery selects.
JAF can show the directing/framing idea; KFS can show the location execution and production machinery.
Format: JAF project/process note plus deeper KFS location-production post.
Needs: Confirm which truck, power and logistics details belong publicly on KFS.
Ask James
These are the highest-value asks before turning the research report into public posts with embedded videos, images and BTS galleries.
Project intake
Use this when a project appears in a showreel, hard drive, BTS folder, awards list, or KFS case study but is not properly represented here yet. JAF is the right home when James was the director, DP, or another key creative head of department.
Copy this into chat with as many paths, links and notes as you have. Voice memos are best for story; exact folder paths are best typed.
